05 August 2021, London: Registration for Dive In, the insurance industry’s longstanding festival promoting diversity and inclusion, opened at midday (BST) on Thursday 5 August via diveinfestival.com. Taking place from 21 – 23 September, this year’s festival will take on a hybrid format, consisting of both virtual and physical events in 30+ countries.

Building upon the success of last year’s virtual festival, which attracted a record-breaking 30,000 participants, the hybrid format allows attendees to join from anywhere in the world, facilitating conversations about diversity and inclusion on a global scale.

With the global pandemic bringing diversity and inclusion into sharp focus, this year’s theme of Active Allyship seeks to educate and empower those in positions of privilege to understand how to be active allies and champions for all. Attendees will be urged to turn their commitments into actions when supporting underrepresented groups and take responsibility for creating an inclusive workplace.

A range of topics will be covered around the world. For instance, in Italy, events will look at work-life balance and parenting support, whereas in Singapore the focus will be on workplace responses to domestic violence. Nigeria will host an event on the generation gap. Dive In Hong Kong will look at empowerment through inclusive communication, while the UK will focus on embracing the power of neurodiversity. Speakers and facilitators confirmed so far include UK Member of Parliament, Jess Phillips and TV Presenter, Anita Kapoor. Full details about events and speakers will be available on the Dive In website and later to rewatch on the Videoflex platform.

In the run-up to this year’s festival, attendees are invited to participate in Dive In’s Active Allyship video and social media campaign, sharing how they show active allyship and what active allyship means to them. The videos will be aired on Dive In social media channels in August.

Commenting on this year’s festival, Jonny Briggs, Group Head, Talent Acquisition & Diversity & Inclusion at Aviva said: “The theme of active allyship is more important than ever. The past few years have seen major breakthroughs in diversity and inclusion and have spurred many important conversations. But this year’s festival will focus on acting on these conversations and standing up for what is right, allowing us to accelerate the pace of change. After the ground-breaking global success of last year’s virtual Dive In, we look forward to embracing this year’s hybrid format and welcoming attendees from all around the world for a programme of insightful and interesting events.”

A host of Global Festival Partners are once again supporting this year’s festival, including: AIG, Aon, Arch, Aviva, AXA, AXIS, Chubb, CNA, DLA Piper, Dual, Gallagher, Howden, Kennedys, Liberty Mutual, Lloyd’s, Markel, Marsh & Guy Carpenter, MS Amlin, RenaissanceRe, RMS, Tokio Marine Kiln, Travelers, and Willis Towers Watson.
