Diversity & Inclusion Festival Dive In goes global with 1m+ sector-wide audience focused on the business case for insurance.

On the heels of a successful inaugural Dive In Festival for Diversity & Inclusion in Insurance held in London in 2015, the global insurance community has come together to bring Dive In to 16 cities across Australia, Bermuda, Canada, China, France, Ireland, Singapore, Switzerland, as well as multiple cities in the UK and the US from 27th to 29th September 2016. The festival’s core message is that diversity and inclusion are good for business with the title Risk & Opportunity: Don’t get left behind! stressing the fact that global competitiveness is at stake as insurance sets out its stall to attract and retain top talent.

This new global presence makes Dive In the only international, sector-wide, concurrent diversity and inclusion event of its kind anywhere in the world, with a potential audience of over 1 million insurance sector leaders and employees.

Over 20 events will take place in London with more across the UK in Bristol, Chatham, Manchester and York. An expert line-up of speakers, among them, broadcasters Clare Balding and Gok Wan, CEO of Lloyd’s, Inga Beale, rugby player Ben Cohen, consultant and author, Alistair Campbell and Brian Dupperault, CEO and President of Hamilton Insurance Group will explore why diversity and inclusion are vital for business success and how to change attitudes to ensure insurance is fit for the future.

All events are open to everyone who works in the insurance industry to attend free of charge with prior registration via the website or app for iPhone and Android. From navigating today’s global, multi-generational workplace to making the most of time with the family, the importance of inclusive leadership and a Dive In comedy fringe to inspire and entertain, the Dive In UK programme has something for everyone.

Dive In has received an outpouring of support from industry leaders from the Lloyd’s and Companies markets including XL Catlin, Aon, Aspen, Marsh, MS Amlin, Willis Towers Watson, Beazley, Direct Line Group, JLT, Liberty, Markel, Novae, Travelers, as well as festival partners KPMG and Gong Communications.

Dominic Christian, Chair of Inclusion@Lloyd’s, CEO of Aon UK, and President of the Insurance Institute of London, commented: “The first Dive In festival demonstrated there was huge appetite in the wider insurance sector to collaborate around an event to deliver broader reach and greater impact, raising the fact that diversity and inclusion are good for business. The message is that we must change behaviour, not just attitudes, in order to advance positive commercial outcomes, realise productivity gains and enhance innovation in the industry.”

XL Catlin is a platinum level sponsor of Dive In, and CEO Mike McGavick helped frame the business case for diverse and inclusive workplaces commenting, “We know that superior insight only comes from harnessing diverse experiences and ways of thinking, which can only stem from fostering and strengthening a diverse, inclusive and welcoming workforce in our companies and the insurance industry.”
